· Sri Anandamayi Ma
Sri Ma Anandamayi today is widely recognized as a personality of great spiritual eminence. She was born a hundred years ago and she took samadhi at the age of 86; these limitations, however, cannot be said to have conditioned her utter freedom to be just herself under all circumstances. Sri Anandamayi Ma was the embodiment of a joyous self-sufficiency, which enraptured the hearts of all who came near her.

Yoga Associations

· International Yoga Federation (IYF)
International Yoga Federation is the largest yoga organization in the world and is open to all yogis and yoga organizations. IYF supports the minimum international standards for yoga teachers since 1987. Emphasis has been on mutual tolerance, respect, friendship, sensitivity and support of different approaches to yoga and an equal voice for every member of the Global Yoga Community.

· International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT)
IAYT serves as a professional organization for Yoga teachers and Yoga therapists worldwide. Our mission is to establish Yoga as a recognized and respected therapy. IAYT membership is open to Yoga practitioners, Yoga teachers, Yoga therapists, Yoga researchers and healthcare practitioners who utilize Yoga in their practice.

· The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY)
The National Governing Body for yoga in the UK. The British Wheel of Yoga is a registered charity and is the largest yoga organisation in the country, running for 40 years. As the Governing Body, we accredit other yoga teacher training organisations.

· International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA)
Issues the designation: IYTA.
The IYTA's mission is to bring and deepen awareness and practice of Yoga in the lives of many thousands of people in Australia and around the world. To help achieve this, the IYTA aims to be pre-eminent in the training of Yoga teachers, particularly in Australia.

· Yoga Alliance
An organization that sets standards for the American yoga community and issues the designations:
RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and RYS (Registered Yoga School).
Yoga Alliance® supports yoga teachers and the diversity and integrity of yoga. Our mission is to lead the yoga community, set standards, foster integrity, provide resources, and uphold the teachings of yoga.

· Yoga Alliance International (YIA)
A world-wide association celebrating the diversity and integrity of yoga practices throughout the world. Open to all Yogic minded individuals everywhere, Yoga Alliance International supports the integrity of Yoga practices and philosophy throughout the world, marking the commonality of the Universal Spirit.

· Yoga and Psychotherapy Association of India (Y.P.A.I.)
A non-profit organization for the welfare of humanity, directly working under the guidance of the World council for Psychotherapy and the Asian Federation for Psychotherapy since 2001. The Y.P.A.I. organizes various courses, workshops, seminars and conference at the national and international levels, and publishes various materials related to yoga and psychotherapy for health, happiness and peace.
